Brier Creek is the crown jewel of American Asset Corporation’s (“AAC”) master planned developments. AAC, as managing general partner, purchased this 2,000 acre site, adjacent to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport and strategically located in the center of the Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area with interchange access from both Interstate-540 as well as from US-70 via Brier Creek Parkway.
AAC master planned the entire development and was responsible for the construction of all the infrastructure. Parcels of land were sold off to various residential developers, as well as hotel sites, a school site and an amusement park. AAC retained a total of 170 acres for development of an 800,000 square foot regional shopping center (Brier Creek Commons), an 80,000 square foot grocery anchored shopping center (Brierdale) and Brier Creek Corporate Center (BCCC) which includes six Class A office buildings totaling approximately 700,000 square feet with entitled rights to construct up to an additional 1,200,000 million square feet of office.
