American Asset Corporation and its principals continue their real estate winning streak at Fairview Plaza—and reach an exciting milestone—with the addition of yet another new tenant, Truliant Federal Credit Union, this month. The top 100 US credit union will open a regional office at Fairview, a lease that comes on the heels of several exciting projects there, including the addition last year of Salon Lofts, one of the premier salon suite operators in the US. Between Salon Lofts, Truliant, 131 Main restaurant, and other businesses, Fairview Plaza, the 320,000- square-foot three-building complex in Charlotte’s SouthPark, will be more than 90 percent leased.

“With over 70,000 square feet of leases signed last year, occupancy has now exceeded 90 percent, which is an incredible achievement,” said Cooper Burton, American Asset Corporation’s Executive Vice President of Commercial Leasing. American Asset and its principals, the owners of Fairview Plaza since 1979—among the few true long-term real estate owners in the market, according to the company—are “thrilled” to welcome Truliant to the fold, Burton said. “Their decision to select Fairview highlights a growing confidence among tenants in the market, with many committing to longer-term leases in well-located office buildings. The recent renovations and refreshed tenant mix at Fairview Plaza have undoubtedly contributed to its appeal.”

And Truliant will be bringing some pizzazz of its own, adding its name to the front and back of the eight-story building at 5970 Fairview Road. It will occupy 16,700 square feet of the third floor.

“We are excited to secure naming rights for this historic building in the SouthPark area,” said Todd Hall, President and CEO of Winston-Salem-based Truliant. He praised Fairview Plaza’s location, calling it prominent, well-respected, vibrant, thriving, and “a walkable, centrally located business district.”

Truliant’s new Charlotte Regional Office represents an expansion of the 340,000-plus-member credit union in the city, which has had branches here since 1987, and joins its regional offices in Greenville, SC, and Greensboro, NC. Scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2025, it will house regional operational support and employees in commercial lending, training, SBA, IT, branch back-office operations, community, and mortgage areas. It will not feature a branch. “(SouthPark) is experiencing significant investment and development,” said Judy Wishnek, Senior Vice President and Market President of Truliant in Charlotte. “We believe it is a great choice for our team and future.”
