American Asset Corporation is privately owned and was founded in 1986 by Count Arco in order to establish and grow an institutional quality real estate portfolio earning superior risk-adjusted returns in the U.S. commercial real estate market.
Key to this success has been the acquisition and development of diverse real estate projects in emerging Southeastern U.S. markets. Since 1986, we have been involved in over 8.0 million square feet of real estate projects including development of over 6.0 million square feet. We currently hold in the portfolio nearly 6 million square feet of retail, office and flex space. Also within the portfolio is land held for the planned development estimated at an additional 4.5 million square feet.
The real estate industry is a business where changing local, regional, national and international market conditions create both challenges and opportunities. We consistently blend our extensive knowledge in the areas of acquisition, development, financing, management and leasing with important market trends in order to create the most innovative, profitable and sustainable portfolio.

Metalmorphosis was conceived by Count Riprand Arco, Founder and Chairman of American Asset Corporation, when Count Arco set out to design a visually stunning focal point for American Asset Corporation's 200-acre office park development - Whitehall Corporate Center. With it's grand plaza, Whitehall Corporate Center presented an opportunity to create something monumental - a sculpture that would inspire both native Charlotteans and visitors alike.
